IELTS HACKER privacy
Applies to ieltshacker.com and the IELTS HACKER Android app. Last updated 27 October 2026.
The short version
We keep only what's needed to save your learning progress. We don't sell your data, show ads, or share it with advertisers.
If you create an account
You sign up with your name, email and a password. We then store:
- your name, email address and WhatsApp number;
- a profile picture, if you choose to add one (we keep a small, resized copy);
- a user ID created by the sign-in service;
- your progress: the days you've completed, quiz scores and streaks, your target band and, if you add it, your test date.
Accounts and progress are stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore). You can read and change only your own data. IELTS HACKER can see learners' names, emails, WhatsApp numbers, profile pictures and progress, and uses them only to run the course: to send class reminders and updates, answer questions and improve the lessons. We never sell this information or share it with advertisers. Passwords are handled by Firebase and are never visible to us.
If you use the app without an account
Your name, target band and progress stay on your device only. They are deleted if you clear the app's data, uninstall it, or tap "Start over".
What else the app stores on your device
- A copy of the app and lesson pictures, so it opens offline.
- Small settings, such as whether you closed the install message.
- If you buy a Premium course on the website, your unlock code, so you don't have to type it again.
If you turn on daily reminders
In the installed app you can choose to get one study reminder a day. We then store, separately from your account: the notification address your phone gives the app, the time you chose and your time zone, and a small progress summary used to word the reminder and to skip days you've already studied (the date of your latest finished day, your streak, your next day and your target band). If you have an account, we also store a code made from your user ID, so a day you finish on another device also stops that day's reminder. No name, email or phone number is stored with it. Turn reminders off in Me → Daily reminder; signing out or deleting your account also turns them off, and the data is deleted.
Deleting your data
Signed in? Open Me → Delete my account. This deletes your account and all your progress straight away. You can also email us and we'll delete it within 7 days. Full steps: delete your account.
After a deletion we keep only an anonymous note so we can count how many learners leave: the dates you joined, were last active and deleted, your target band, how many days you completed and your quiz average. It has no name, email, phone number or picture, and can't be linked back to you.
Links to other services
Video classes and community links open YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. Those services have their own privacy policies. Payments for Premium are made directly in bKash, Nagad or Rocket; we only see the details you send us.
Website statistics
The website host (Cloudflare) may count visits in aggregate, without cookies, to show basic traffic numbers.
